Job Title: Health Program Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Program Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising professional staff in the implementation of one or more specific health programs. This includes scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work, providing staff training and assistance, conducting performance evaluations, and determining priorities and planning program work.

Responsibilities:
  • Schedule, assign, and review work of staff
  • Provide staff training and assistance
  • Conduct performance evaluations
  • Determine priorities and plan program work
  • Establish and maintain program procedures
  • Develop or make recommendations on development of policies and standards
  • Act as liaison with other operating units, agencies, and outside officials regarding unit policies and procedures
  • Prepare reports and correspondence
  • Plan, organize, direct, and monitor implementation of one or more specific statewide health programs or projects
  • Supervise or personally handle public relations
  • Estimate costs of a program
  • Develop a budget
  • Control and review expenditures
  • Oversee and negotiate contracts and grants with subcontractors
  • Negotiate and be accountable for actively pursuing continuity of funding received by program
Requirements:
  • Eight years of professional experience in a health organization
  • One year of the General Experience must have been at the advanced working level in health care program administration, a health systems agency, or other health care organization in at least one of the following areas: grant writing or monitoring, formal program planning, development, management, or evaluation, or program consultation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supervising, training, and evaluating staff and/or projects
  • Experience drafting Medicaid regulations and facilitating the Medicaid regulation process
  • Experience with oversight of the state plan amendments process, including but not limited to submission of SPAs to state and federal review committees, responses to comments, and updates as necessary
  • Experience with researching, understanding, and explaining healthcare payment systems
  • Experience with facilitating meetings to discuss payment and policy issues
  • Experience interpreting federal regulations and translating the requirements into medical standards
  • Experience with the creation of Medicaid policy programs and initiatives, including but not limited to experience with use and overseeing interchange reference updates and experience with creating and interpreting data warehouse queries
  • Experience with developing standards to demonstrate compliance with federal and state mandates
  • Experience with coordinating input and collaboration with other DSS units and state agencies, including but not limited to representing DSS on external committees and workgroups
  • Experience with overseeing the implementation of various Medicaid payment policies and quarterly HIPAA-compliant updates, including but not limited to the development of fiscal analyses and publications detailing policy updates
