Job Title: SNAP Program Administrator

Are you a driven and ambitious professional with a passion for public service? We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SNAP Program Administrator to join our team at the State of Connecticut.

Job Summary:

The SNAP Program Administrator will play a crucial role in developing and overseeing the administration of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in Connecticut. This position will require strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to analyze and evaluate complex policy issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead all aspects of day-to-day SNAP team operations, focusing on eligibility, employment, training, and nutrition education outreach.
  • Create and implement new policies and regulations to enhance program effectiveness and compliance.
  • Analyze and evaluate complex policy issues to provide informed recommendations and solutions.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies across programs to ensure maximum integrity and optimal performance.
  • Lead program administrative staff, guiding daily operations to meet strategic goals and compliance standards.
Requirements:
  • Nine (9) years of professional experience in the delivery of social services programs and/or policies.
  • One (1) year of the General Experience must have been in a managerial or consultative capacity with programmatic and administrative responsibility for a regional or statewide social services program.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with the laws and regulations of the SNAP program, including activities related to eligibility, employment and training, nutrition education, and outreach.
  • Experience creating and implementing new policies and regulations.
  • Experience analyzing and evaluating complex policy issues.
  • Experience identifying and implementing efficiencies across programs and ensure maximum program integrity.
