SUMMARY

The Loan Boarding Specialist is tasked with reviewing, confirming, and ensuring that all necessary closed loan documents have been received and for entering loans into the Loan Accounting System in accordance with Bank procedures and policies. The Boarding Specialist is responsible for entering assigned loan products, including Consumer, Commercial, and Specialty loan products, which may involve simple to complex transactions in line with loan closing documents. The Boarding Specialists will ensure compliance with completeness, turnaround time, and accuracy standards as per established service level agreements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.
  • Books closed loans into the Loan Accounting System, including compliance and collateral details.
  • Reviews scanned documents to verify receipt, accuracy, and proper execution of loan documents, ensuring no alterations are present.
  • Coordinates with relevant parties to obtain any missing information required for loan boarding.
  • Once the boarding package is validated for completeness, processes loans, determines funding requirements, and forwards to the Loan Funding queue.
  • Conducts loan activation TMS entries promptly and accurately.
  • Monitors queue volumes and adjusts workload as necessary.
  • Performs job responsibilities in accordance with the completeness, accuracy, and turnaround time standards as per established service level agreements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year College or University is preferred; a minimum of three (3) years of work experience in a financial institution is necessary. Proficiency in consumer and commercial lending, along with applicable loan documents, and an understanding of loan accounting systems, loan payment types, and processing, as well as the ability to research and resolve accounting discrepancies, is preferred.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Advanced personal computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft EXCEL, WORD, and email; self-starter who works with minimal supervision; strong verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills and team orientation; ability to meet deadlines; ability to appropriately escalate issues requiring problem-solving and decision-making.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from managers, peers, or other business partners.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Demonstrates critical thinking tendencies to address problems decisively and propose sustainable solutions. Accepts shared ownership and accountability for results.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, see, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

We offer a competitive total compensation package including base salary and benefits. The anticipated pay range for this position is competitive and depends on various non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills and experience, education, and geographic location. Benefits include, but are not limited to, medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability benefits, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings account, employee assistance program, 401(k), Paid Time Off (new hires accrue at .069 per hours worked which equates to approximately 18 days per year inclusive of paid sick time), and up to 11 paid Federal holidays.
