Cost Control Finance Manager

The Finance team supporting the Short Range Air Defense (SHORAD) sector within the Land and Air Defense Mission Area is seeking a Finance Lead. This role is pivotal in overseeing financial operations for the CROSSFIRE Program, which involves providing advanced radar systems and unmanned aircraft solutions to the U.S. Army. Additionally, the Finance Lead will spearhead financial management for upcoming contracts, including a significant project anticipated in the near future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management of earned value contracts and conduct thorough analyses of program performance.
- Develop and present quarterly Estimates at Completion (EACs).
- Review and create Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs).
- Collaborate with Control Account Managers and Program Management to ensure adherence to financial policies.
- Facilitate weekly forecast reviews encompassing bookings, sales, earnings, and cash flow.
- Contribute to the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long Range Plan (LRP) by providing contract-level insights.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance analytical capabilities across the finance team.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests in a dynamic work environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in financial analysis or related finance roles; or an advanced degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Estimates at Completion (EACs).
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to government contract requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to achieve EVMS certification shortly after hiring.
- Experience in fast-paced environments with multitasking capabilities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to work under general supervision and contribute to defining assignment objectives.
- Skill in identifying issues and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Experience in engaging with senior management and customers, including formal presentations.
- Proven track record of meeting critical deadlines.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities.
