Job Summary

The State of Vermont is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Parks Regional Manager to oversee the management of the Northwest Region of Vermont State Parks. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the stewardship of agency lands.

Key Responsibilities

This position is responsible for general oversight and management of the Northwest Region of Vermont State Parks. The successful candidate will have significant knowledge and understanding of recreation management, capital improvement planning, day-to-day park operations and maintenance, and facility management. The Parks Regional Manager will work with a statewide management team to develop, coordinate, and implement policies affecting state parks. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively within the region and state, facilitate meetings, travel on a weekly basis, and conduct public meetings, including significant public speaking engagements, and contact with the media and press.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years or more of experience at a professional or technical level in an area related to the functions of this position, including but not limited to park management, park administration, park planning, or park maintenance administration or coordination, including three (3) years of supervisory experience. Alternatively, the candidate may have two years of full-time college work or an associate's degree and six (6) years or more of experience at a professional or technical level in an area related to the functions of this position, including but not limited to park management, park administration, park planning, or park maintenance administration or coordination, including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
