ROLE SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the Sales Representative for New and Pre-Owned Trucks is to achieve established sales targets for new and used truck sales by engaging with existing clients and pursuing new business opportunities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Two to four years of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
- Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurance standards.
- State Sales License – obtainable upon hiring
- State Vehicle Inspector Certification required
- Commercial Driver's License required; must meet company insurance standards or obtain within six months of hiring
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and specify all sold orders for both Peterbilt trucks.
- Identify and secure all pricing discounts, promotional marketing programs, and special rebate allowances.
- Verify all pre-bills and ensure that specifications align with customer requirements.
- Assist clients in selecting a truck by asking pertinent questions and attentively listening to their responses to meet their transportation needs.
- Communicate product performance, applications, and benefits to potential customers.
- Offer test drives to all prospects, ensuring proper identification is obtained prior to the test drive.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Utilize dealership sales control and follow-up systems.
- Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations governing retail truck sales.
- Participate in product and sales training sessions as requested by management.
- Stay informed about new products, features, accessories, and their benefits to customers.
- Ensure all closed deals are forwarded to the finance and insurance manager with the necessary paperwork.
- Complete sales orders and process documentation according to established dealership policies.
- Prepare sold trucks for customer delivery before their arrival.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers.
- Actively seek and develop business with new customers.
- Conduct a minimum of 40 in-person sales contacts monthly and record results.
- Deliver trucks to customers, ensuring they understand the vehicle's operating features, warranty, and paperwork.
- Perform pre-sale and post-sale inspections on each unit.
- Introduce customers to parts and service department personnel to highlight the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance.
- Follow up on all post-delivery items, ensuring all customer expectations are met.
- Maintain a follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business.
- Utilize Hunter Customer Management Systems effectively.
- Understand truck industry terminology and stay updated on product technology, inventory, features, and accessories.
- Recognize the value of used trucks in dealership inventory and ensure the used sales manager meets each customer.
- Conduct truck deliveries, ensuring customers comprehend the vehicle's operating features, warranty, and paperwork.
- Make sales calls using reliable transportation.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Be capable of driving across county and state lines.
- Adhere to and promote all existing health and safety policies to foster a safe work environment.
