Service Technician

About the Role:
New Way Trucks is a family-owned company with a rich history of innovation and excellence in heavy manufacturing. We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team and contribute to the final assembly process of our refuse trucks.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist and train employees in the installation of electrical controls for equipment, applying knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Diagnose and repair final stage controls issues.
Perform various chassis programming, including Allison transmission, Cummins engine, and Diamond Logic.
Maintain records of repairs and rework performed.
Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software to perform engineering tasks, including preparing technical documentation for service and production support.
Provide excellent customer service via phone or email to customers, dealers, and department personnel to assist in trouble shooting to resolution.
Review technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and quality requirements.
Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or quality requirements by coordinating manufacturing, installation, support, documentation, or testing activities.
Collaborate with outside suppliers and service centers to coordinate repair and service work.
Requirements:
Associate degree in automotive or large equipment mechanics or related field with a minimum of two years of mechanical experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude with willingness to learn controls, including mobile electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Problem solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative management style.
Ability to use computers and computer software, including word, excel, data entry, and information processes.
