Job Summary
As a CDL Truck Driver with TransForce, you will be responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on swing routes. You will drive a heavy-duty Commercial vehicle into various environments, including residential, commercial, and construction areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Operate vehicle in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, as well as all local, state, and federal regulations and company expectations for the Fleet.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) and note all issues on the DVIR form for corrective review/repair.
• Immediately report any unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
• Participate and cooperate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Route Manager.
• Work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
• Perform all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed.
• Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notify Dispatch or Route Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pick-ups, or problems that arise on the route.
• Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
• Completely dump all containers and leave the customer's location clean and free of debris.
• Complete and submit customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.
• Position containers on the customer's property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, containers are set in an upright position, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
• Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation when checking-in at the end of the route.
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or GED (accredited) preferred.
• 4 years operating a vehicle requiring a CDL required or equivalent military driving experience within the last 7 years required.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
• (CDL)-Class B Commercial Drivers License B (CDL) required hire.
• Eligible to legally work in the country where the position is located.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
• Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, criminal history, and motor vehicle record review.
• Knowledge of company safe driving practices.
• Knowledge of the WM Way program.
