Job Summary

College of the Canyons is seeking highly qualified adjunct faculty members to join our Physical Sciences department. As an adjunct instructor, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the academic excellence of our institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of courses in Physical Sciences, including chemistry, earth science, and physics/astronomy
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote student learning and success
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees to contribute to the development of academic programs and policies
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in teaching and learning
Requirements
  • Mastery's degree in Physical Sciences or a related field
  • OR - Master's degree in one of the disciplines included in the interdisciplinary area (Chemistry, Earth Science, and Physics/Astronomy) AND upper division or graduate course work in at least one other constituent discipline
  • OR - Equivalency Option 1: An official transcript documenting successful completion of any Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education AND official transcripts documenting successful completion of 24 semester units in the discipline at the upper division and graduate level, a minimum of which must be 12 graduate level semester units
