  • Overview:
    The Certified Pharmacy Technician position entails assisting pharmacists in the review, preparation, and distribution of medications under their guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and compounds a variety of medications (including sterile products, oral, topical, and controlled substances) in accordance with established protocols.
  • Delivers medications to patients and oversees the return of unused medications to the pharmacy.
  • Accurately records pharmaceutical activities utilizing automated systems.
  • Addresses customer inquiries regarding pharmacy services and assistance.
  • Utilizes dispensing technology to ensure the correct medications are provided to patients.
  • Manages inventory, which includes ordering, stocking, and monitoring expiration dates.
  • Supports the training of new staff and participates in initiatives aimed at process enhancement.
  • Ensures adherence to regulatory standards for medication storage and documentation.
Qualifications:
  • Education: No formal education required, although completion of a pharmacy technician training program is advantageous.
  • Licensure/Certification: Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy and certification from PTCB or NHA are preferred qualifications.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is beneficial.
