Job Title: Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - C2BMC

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL. As a key member of our Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) team, you will work in an integrated team environment with other systems and specialty engineers to develop solutions that include a background in all systems development life cycle aspects.

Job Summary:

The Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer will be responsible for providing use case briefing development support to junior systems engineering team members, focusing on supporting the development and review of interface control documents, system/subsystem requirements, and verification cross reference matrix development. You will also act as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts and actively participate in Agile development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and review system engineering artifacts, including interface control documents, use cases briefings, and sequence diagrams.
  • Provide technical support to junior systems engineering team members and act as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts.
  • Participate in Agile development efforts, including iteration planning, status, and agile team leadership.
  • Contribute to the development of system requirements and verification plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within resources available.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience.
  • Experience developing system engineering artifacts and working in an integrated team environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions.
  • Ability to write and implement engineering plans within a project.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment.
  • Domain experience with both Space and Missile Defense.
  • Experience in mission analysis and SysML modeling in support of MBSE.
