Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at Syndeo Outsourcing. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing multi-state payrolls, preparing and auditing payroll and billing adjustments, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process multi-state payrolls and ensure accurate calculations
  • Prepare, process, and audit payroll and billing adjustments
  • Set up, audit, and resolve direct deposit payments, rejections, and reversals
  • Process voids, reissues, and manual checks
  • Receive, research, and determine/communicate actions on general inquiries from clients and worksite employees
  • Process and respond to wage garnishments and payroll deductions
  • Enter payroll changes (i.e. pay changes, status changes, terminations, etc.)
  • Process both manual and electronic time files
  • Communicate with clients and employees regarding payroll issues and respond to inquiries
  • Participate in and support various projects as requested
  • Partner with a client service team to ensure company policies and processes are followed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Strong accounting background or payroll certifications preferred
  • Strong technical skills
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent data entry accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work
  • Ability to demonstrate basic problem-solving skills
  • One year experience with payroll preferred
