Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiologic Technologist II to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for operating angiographic and ultrasound equipment to perform advanced procedures on inpatients and outpatients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proficiently operate angiographic and ultrasound equipment to perform basic to advanced procedures.
  • Assist with interventional and surgical procedures as a scrub assistant, demonstrating competent knowledge of equipment and options.
  • Monitor patients and alert staff to life-threatening changes in patient status, applying the defibrillator and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation when required.
  • Identify and process images, ensuring diagnostic quality, and assist clinical engineering staff in evaluating digital equipment.
  • Compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure exam accuracy and post-process images as directed.
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Serve as a technical resource, role model, and/or preceptor for students and staff, facilitating clinical problem-solving and collaborating with other departments.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months, unless department leader has determined it is not required.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in an Interventional Radiologic Technologist role.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.

May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.

Must have clear speech, vision, and hearing. Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
