Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiologic Technologist II to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for operating angiographic and ultrasound equipment to perform complex procedures on inpatients and outpatients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate angiographic and ultrasound equipment to perform advanced procedures, including carotid stenting, cerebral intervention, and aortic aneurysm repair.
  • Assist with interventional and surgical procedures as a scrub assistant, providing competent knowledge of equipment and options.
  • Monitor patients and alert staff of life-threatening changes in patient status, applying the defibrillator and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation when required.
  • Identify and process images, ensuring diagnostic quality, and assist clinical engineering staff in evaluating digital equipment.
  • Compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure exam accuracy and post-process images as directed.
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Serve as a technical resource, role model, and preceptor for students and staff, and facilitate clinical problem-solving and collaboration with other departments.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months, unless department leader has determined it is not required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in an Interventional Radiologic Technologist role.
  • Advanced knowledge in radiology positioning and techniques, basic radiation safety, and aseptic techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and proficiency in suturing vascular access sheaths.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids.
