Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Le Pain Quotidien - Tribeca. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and executing menu items to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items, including seasonal and special menu items, to meet LPQ standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to cleaning checklists and assisting with cleaning duties as needed.
- Assist the Kitchen Manager in maintaining proper food par levels and use prep sheets to prepare correct quantities.
- Conduct line checks to ensure quality control and use proper tools, equipment, and ingredients for each menu item.
- Follow opening, mid, and closing procedures as directed by checklists and the Kitchen Manager.
- Follow and complete Le Pain Quotidien cleaning and food safety checklists to ensure proper food handling.
Qualifications
- 1 or 3 months of related restaurant experience or training.
- Previous knife-handling experience is a plus.
- Flexibility in schedule is highly preferred but not required.
- Ability to be cross-trained in all areas of the kitchen is preferred.
- Ability to speak, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.
