About the Job

Hopedale Medical Complex is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our close-knit Operating Room team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Operative Preparation: Assist in preparing the operating room and patient for surgery, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Surgical Assistance: Provide support to surgeons and other team members during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments and equipment as needed.
  • Instrument Management: Maintain an accurate count of sponges, needles, and other instruments, ensuring their proper functioning and sterilization.
  • Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication with the surgical team, patients, and families, ensuring clear understanding of procedures and outcomes.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in regular in-service training and quality assurance activities to maintain and improve surgical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Certification: Current certification as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work well under pressure, and excellent communication skills.
