About the Job

Hopedale Medical Complex is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our close-knit Operating Room team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons and other medical professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Operative Preparation: Assist in preparing the operating room and equipment for surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
  • Surgical Assistance: Provide support to surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments and equipment as needed.
  • Instrument Management: Maintain an accurate count of sponges, needles, and other instruments, ensuring that all equipment is properly sterilized and stored.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to ensure seamless execution of procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in regular quality assurance activities, including in-service training and continuing education seminars, to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and best practices.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program is required.
  • Certifications: Current CPR certification is required.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work well under pressure, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
