Role Overview
The risk team at Cardless is tasked with developing the credit and underwriting policies for our partner brands, as well as implementing robust fraud prevention measures. As a Risk Analyst, you will play a crucial role in refining our underwriting policies based on product performance and creating tools that facilitate scalable risk management across various partners and brands. Your responsibilities will also include monitoring our portfolio and evaluating incoming applications for potential fraudulent activities. This is a significant challenge that requires a balance between growth and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee credit policies for both new and existing brand partners.
- Enhance our proprietary risk models to accurately predict loss behavior.
- Conduct quantitative analyses to identify risk vectors and fraudulent behaviors.
- Establish rules and strategies to mitigate fraud across applications, account management, and transactions.
- Implement A-B testing to optimize business processes and strategies.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in credit risk within the consumer credit sector.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL and Excel.
- Familiarity with statistical programming languages such as Python, SAS, or R is advantageous.
- Experience in experimental design and A-B testing methodologies.
- Understanding of data pipelining, modeling, and ETL processes.
- Ability to communicate insights clearly through data storytelling.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the consumer credit landscape and relevant fair lending regulations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with banking partners and third-party data vendors is a plus.
