About the Role
BJC HealthCare is seeking a Medical Care Specialist to join their team in Valley Park, Missouri. This role involves providing direct patient care to support licensed professional nurses and ensuring a safe environment for patients by reducing risk of harm.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will implement direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family-centered care in a healing environment. This includes administering or assisting patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), performing vital signs, intake & output, fall and pressure ulcer prevention measures, urinary catheter care, phlebotomy, or point-of-care testing as requested. Additionally, they will collect clinical data and information on patients, and report changes in patient status to the nurse. The Medical Care Specialist will also assist the nurse with patient and family education, document all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology, act as a 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary, and ensure availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.

Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a High School Diploma or GED and no prior experience is required. A Certified Nurse Assistant certification is preferred.
