Job Overview


The individual in this role will oversee plant readiness initiatives that support New Product Introductions (NPI) and Continuous Improvement (CI). This includes documenting and developing product standardization, implementing significant new programs, and ensuring effective communication across teams.

Organizational Structure

This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Product Development.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage overall CI goal tracking and execution, identifying opportunities for improvement in collaboration with direct reports and other key functional areas such as Sourcing and Operations.

- Lead the technical outputs of the Product Engineering Services department, which encompass product drawings, change management documentation, product launch timelines, and product engineering tasks.

- Oversee key product specification modifications to ensure formal approval and proper documentation.

- Drive documentation standardization and maintain a repository of essential documents.


- Collaborate with Operations to determine manufacturing processes, including assembly methods, construction techniques, material cost estimates, labor estimates, tooling, and equipment for new products and custom requests.


- Identify, initiate, and execute value engineering projects through the product engineering network.

- Maintain effective project tracking, meeting minutes, and action items.

- Manage, nurture, and develop direct reports, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and cross-training activities.

- Travel may be required, both domestically and internationally, with an estimated travel commitment of 10%.

- Provide support to Quality, Operations, and Customer Service for product-related inquiries.

- Contribute to establishing an organizational culture focused on continuous improvement, utilizing daily management, standard work, and A3 Thinking methodologies.

- Develop meaningful Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure success.

- Consistently embody the six principles for success: Trustworthiness, Team Commitment, Active Listening, Customer Service, Preparation and Planning, and Result Delivery.

- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
