Position Summary:

The Project Manager for the Construction Division plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all projects align with the company's core values and operational goals. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this position is integral to maintaining our high standards of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and nurture relationships with clients, showcasing the full range of Ferguson's services.
  • Collaborate with various divisions within Ferguson to guarantee outstanding project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with IBEW regulations and all applicable local, state, and federal codes.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of construction projects, including:
    • Contract management, financial oversight, and budget adherence.
    • Thorough understanding of project scope based on contractual documents.
    • Timely management of customer requests for estimates.
    • Effective tracking of Change Orders to maintain project momentum.
    • Accurate invoicing in accordance with contract stipulations.
    • Monitoring project budgets by reviewing committed and actual costs regularly.
    • Establishing and reviewing cost codes for projects exceeding 1000 man-hours.
    • Creating and managing subcontracts for specialized work.
  • Project Management:
    • Work closely with site foremen to ensure adequate staffing and resource availability.
    • Procure materials with a focus on just-in-time delivery while addressing logistical challenges.
    • Coordinate with other trades on-site to achieve project goals.
    • Manage the submittal approval process to ensure adherence to contract specifications.
    • Develop and implement a construction schedule that aligns with project timelines.
    • Oversee all subcontracting requirements as per project contracts.
    • Manage the Request for Information (RFI) process.
    • Ensure timely submission of project closeout documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as construction management or engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the commercial electrical sector, ideally in a supervisory role.
  • Proven field experience in construction management coordination.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project scheduling, bidding processes, change orders, and contractual agreements.
  • Ability to foster relationships and contribute to securing new projects.
  • Proven track record of managing a profitable project portfolio.
  • Strong initiative, execution, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional analytical, motivational, and leadership capabilities.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician's license is advantageous.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment with stringent deadlines.
