Position Summary:

The Project Manager for the Construction Division plays a pivotal role in overseeing projects from inception to completion, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer while embodying the core values of Ferguson Electric.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with clients, showcasing the comprehensive range of services offered by Ferguson.
  • Collaborate with various divisions within Ferguson to guarantee outstanding project execution for both new and existing clients.
  • Ensure compliance with IBEW regulations and all applicable local, state, and federal codes.
  • Oversee the entire construction project lifecycle, which includes:
    • Contract management, financial oversight, and budget adherence.
    • Comprehending the complete scope of projects based on contractual documents.
    • Timely management of customer requests for estimates.
    • Efficiently handling the Change Order process to maintain project momentum.
    • Accurate invoicing in accordance with contract stipulations.
    • Monitoring project budgets by reviewing committed costs against actual and estimated costs.
    • Setting up and evaluating weekly cost codes for extensive projects.
    • Creating and managing subcontracts for necessary project work.
  • Project Management:
    • Work closely with foremen to ensure adequate staffing and provision of necessary tools and equipment for safe and efficient job performance.
    • Procure materials with a focus on just-in-time delivery, addressing any logistical challenges with safety as a priority.
    • Coordinate with other trades on-site to achieve project goals.
    • Manage the submittal approval process to ensure adherence to contract specifications.
    • Develop and maintain a construction schedule that aligns with project timelines.
    • Oversee all subcontracting requirements as per project contracts.
    • Manage the Request for Information (RFI) process.
    • Ensure timely submission of project closeout documents.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in large-scale hard bid and design-build projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as construction management, engineering, or similar disciplines is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years in the commercial electrical sector, ideally with experience as a foreman.
  • Field experience in construction management coordination.
  • In-depth knowledge of project scheduling, bidding processes, take-offs, change orders, and contract management.
  • Proven ability to cultivate relationships and contribute to project acquisition.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage a profitable project portfolio.
  • Strong initiative, execution, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional analytical, motivational, and leadership abilities.
  • Possession of a Journeyman or Master Electrician's license is advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
