About The Equity Alliance:
The Equity Alliance (TEA) is a grassroots organization based in Tennessee, spearheaded by Black women. Our objective is to cultivate independent political and economic power within the Black community by educating and mobilizing its members. As a prominent entity in Tennessee, we confront inequities entrenched in systemic racism and uphold democratic values.
Position Overview:
- Engage with constituents in selected neighborhoods through outreach initiatives and direct interactions.
- Discuss pivotal issues with community members and share relatable experiences to foster connections.
- Document insights from discussions and nurture relationships within diverse populations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Commitment to the mission and values of TEA.
- Previous experience in outreach or community engagement is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate key issues effectively.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
- Familiarity with the community dynamics in targeted areas.
Contract Details:
This is a part-time role requiring up to 20 hours per week. A virtual orientation is mandatory to commence work. Most activities will take place during weekends and weekday evenings.
