POSITION SUMMARY:
In a supportive environment, the Customer Service Representative plays a crucial role in efficiently processing customer orders and managing incoming inquiries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Addresses fundamental customer questions about products, provides pricing information, and processes orders.
- Accepts customer orders through various channels including phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Contributes to the profitability of Genuine Parts Company by negotiating sales and purchase prices within established guidelines.
- Adjusts pricing for non-contract customers to remain competitive while optimizing company profits.
- Cultivates customer relationships to encourage repeat business and enhance operational processes.
- Manages inventory levels to ensure product availability for customers.
- Authorized to place orders without prior approval for amounts up to $5,000 per line and $10,000 per purchase order.
- Responsible for sourcing products from branch, distribution center, or supplier inventories.
- Determines the most economical shipping options for customer orders.
- Collaborates with Account Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Expedites backorders and may prepare inventory for shipment.
- Handles customer returns as necessary.
- Performs additional tasks as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires a high school diploma or GED along with zero to three years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Dependability, organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail are essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Moderate proficiency in computer skills, including information processing and email communication.
- Familiarity with product knowledge is advantageous.
