About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at the Museum of Illusions. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the museum, ensuring seamless execution of events and exhibitions, and providing exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, and develop new museum staff to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Implement effective training procedures for museum staff to ensure they are equipped to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Develop and maintain employee scheduling to ensure optimal staffing levels and efficient operations.
  • Supervise and support Shift Supervisors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain a high standard of guest experience, ensuring guest satisfaction and engagement.
  • Oversee museum maintenance, ensuring cleanliness, exhibits, and other areas are well-maintained.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and execute strategic plans for museum growth and sustainability.
  • Represent the museum in the community, forging relationships with local organizations, educational institutions, and business clients.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the entertainment industry.
  • Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and P&L responsibility.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of current best practices within the entertainment environment.
  • Understanding of marketing, sales, and visitor engagement strategies.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational, detail-oriented, adaptable, responsive, and self-motivated skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements/Demands
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to type on a keyboard, use a laptop, and other office equipment.

  • Ability to properly express oneself, exchange information, communicate, and converse with diverse cultures, races, and sexes.
