Equipment Maintenance Technician Senior

Job Summary
The Senior Equipment Maintenance Technician will provide advanced technical expertise in the maintenance and repair of aircraft-related production equipment. This role requires a high degree of technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical malfunctions of operational equipment, applying corrective action to resolve recurring issues.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct proactive preventive and predictive maintenance inspections, performing required duties in accordance with recommended schedules.
- Equipment Setup and Calibration: Perform setup and calibration of aircraft-related production equipment on scheduled intervals.
- PLC Programming and Data Management: Regularly perform backups of process parameters and PLC programs for all equipment, and input required data in the CMMS system for machine reliability and control.
- Project Implementation: Implement project objectives on key pieces of automated equipment with minimal guidance.
- Equipment Modification and Replacement: Recommend or initiate modification or replacement of equipment components that fail to meet acceptable operating standards.
- Interfacing with Management and Production: Interface daily with key management and production personnel regarding all automated equipment.
Requirements
- Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and controls aspects of factory automation systems and the integration of devices used.
- PLC and CNC Experience: Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley & Siemens Controls preferred) and background in CNC Equipment (Mazak, Mori Seiki, Fryer, Alpha Harrison, Broetje, Kuka preferred).
- GSE Equipment Experience: Background in GSE Equipment (Hobart, Unitron, Tronair, Lektro Tug preferred).
- Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively with management and production personnel, and communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions
The Senior Equipment Maintenance Technician will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with exposure to various types of equipment and machinery. The ability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays, is required.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with 5 years of experience working with electrical controls and mechanical applications in a manufacturing environment. A 2-year technical degree may offset one year of experience.
