Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at Owens Corning. The successful candidate will provide finance support for our Irving, TX Roofing and Asphalt plants, providing a clear and insightful view of the financial outlook of the plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Improve plant profitability by supporting actions in line with achieving targets, mitigating risk and prioritizing resource needs.
  • Develop proactive contingency plans, productivity improvement and corrective actions to ensure facility optimal financial results.
  • Provide insightful and competitive analytics that anticipate change and drive decision making.
  • Guide and coach non-finance managers regarding issues of financial control and compliance.
Cross-functional Leadership and Team Contribution
  • Work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant objectives.
  • Share best practices, i.e., process improvements, financial modeling and procedural changes.
  • Align teams and resources to solve problems and drive results.
  • Provide functional expertise to plant leadership and team members.
  • Support the plant data steward function as the designated back-up to that role.
  • Raise all issues of significant risk and non-compliance to the Financial Leader for the business group.
  • Participate in driving TPM and safety excellence. This position is a member of the Office Excellence TPM Pillar.
  • Maintain a clear tone regarding business conduct, ethics, the law, and financial controls.
Tactical Responsibilities
  • Execute the monthly financial closing process.
  • Ensure that finance processes are compliant with SOX guidelines.
  • Prepare various division level reports and analyses.
Reporting and Analysis
  • Support financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Prepare and deliver the plant financial forecasts and projections.
  • Communicate results effectively to management and non-financial personnel.
  • Provide in-depth analysis on variances to plan and forecast.
  • Educate plant personnel on key performance metrics.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
  • 1-3 years' experience in financial planning and analysis manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing costing principles.
  • Understanding of and ability to work within SOX control environment.
  • Must be willing to relocate from DFW area for future opportunities.
