Bakery Operations Manager Job Description

At United Family Services Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our bakery department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our bakery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional guest service and ensure a positive atmosphere in the bakery department.
  • Assist the Department Manager in leading the bakery team and ensuring the smooth operation of the department.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and merchandising to ensure optimal sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Train and develop bakery team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Collaborate with the Department Manager to plan and execute production and promotion goals.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as requested or required by upper management.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year bakery experience.
  • Ability to work and communicate with all levels of management and subordinates in a professional manner.
  • Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including bending, squatting, standing, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 4 hours).
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. and push and pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work within a freezer for up to 15 minutes.
  • Must possess technical skills to perform basic math and computer tasks (Word, Excel, and Email).
  • Ability to work at a fast-paced, but efficient and controlled manner.
  • Must maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Must be flexible to work various hours/shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits, and attitude.
  • Ability to function as a team member and get along with others.
