Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and presentation.
  • Determine the presentation of food and create decorative food displays to enhance the dining experience.
  • Monitor the quantity of food prepared and inform Food and Beverage service staff of menu specials and out of stock menu items.
  • Prepare special meals or substitute items as needed.
  • Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks and provide them with necessary items.
  • Monitor the stock of kitchen supplies and food, and maintain kitchen logs for food safety programs and food products.
  • Ensure the quality of food items and notify the manager if a product does not meet specifications.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures, and report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Address guests' service needs, speak with others using clear and professional language, and develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards, and perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality, culinary arts, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in a food service or hospitality environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time, and reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
