This role encompasses a range of professional and technical responsibilities related to the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop and laptop systems, printers, and video conferencing equipment. The incumbent will be tasked with troubleshooting and resolving reported hardware and software issues, while also planning and implementing approved system modifications and upgrades. The position provides tier 2 and 3 support for effective problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
The following points outline the primary duties associated with this role, though they are not exhaustive. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary, including collaboration across different functional areas to manage workload effectively.
- Diagnoses, monitors, and resolves hardware and software issues related to computer systems. This includes managing systems connected to various networks and operating systems, such as Windows 10, Windows 7, and earlier versions.
- Coordinates repairs and configurations of workstations using approved software images and additional necessary applications.
- Installs supplementary hardware to enhance user functionality as required.
- Facilitates the relocation of IT systems and peripherals as needed.
- Organizes and manages video conferencing setups between multiple locations.
- Adheres to established standard operating procedures and meets all service level agreements.
- Maintains accurate records of all equipment managed and submits updates to asset management.
- Utilizes a ticket tracking system to document and manage support requests.
- Possesses knowledge of standard practices and procedures within the IT support field, with a preference for familiarity with video conferencing systems.
- Operates under established guidelines and receives direction from a team leader or manager.
- May be required to work outside of standard hours on occasion.
- Flexibility to work at various locations may be necessary.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
A minimum of an associate degree or a bachelor's degree in information management, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience in desktop systems support. Certifications such as A+, MCDST, and other Microsoft credentials are highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will possess at least 2 years of experience in a networked environment, supporting various operating systems and applications, including Microsoft Office 365 and Windows workstations. A strong affinity for assisting end users and collaborating with IT team members is essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a commitment to customer satisfaction, are crucial. Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems is advantageous.
