Data Analyst, Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst, Consultant to join our team at Blue Shield of CA. As a key member of our Data Solutions and Asset Management team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing large enterprise data warehouse/BI solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Data Analysis: Perform detailed data analysis, including inspecting, profiling, and transforming data to discover useful information and support decision-making.
- Portfolio Management: Own and manage multiple assets within our healthcare portfolio and partner with analytics and business counterparts to provide solutions.
- Data Analysis and Profiling: Drive data analysis and profiling for complex data issues, including gap and impact analysis for medium to large-sized assignments.
- Process Development: Develop extensible and flexible data analysis processes based on long-term strategy and promote reuse of existing structures when possible.
- Project Leadership: Work on multiple projects as a project leader or advisor, leading teams to deliver high-quality results.
- Metadata Management: Use documented procedures to create source-to-target mapping, capturing business and technical metadata, and complete data lineage.
- Collaboration: Partner with Business Subject Matter Experts, Business System Analysts, Solution Technical Leads, Data/Application Architects, and development teams to analyze data requirements and ensure data design aligns with business strategy.
- Data Manipulation: Manipulate and analyze high-volume, high-dimensionality data from various sources using a variety of tools and data analysis techniques.
- Communication: Perform ad hoc, live research to demonstrate/present data issues, patterns, relationships, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with data stewards, architects, data governance, data modelers, data quality, development, solution leads, and QA teams to address data and mapping questions.
- Stakeholder Influence: Influence stakeholders to make product improvements that yield business value by effectively making compelling cases through storytelling, visualizations, and other influencing tools.
- Mentorship: Mentor and provide guidance to peers and junior staff.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics or equivalent experience.
- Experience: At least 8 years of experience in data analysis, with 8+ years of hands-on experience in SQL, including querying large and complex data sets.
- Technical Skills: Experience in cloud architecture, Azure framework, data vault methodology, and data catalog tools like Collibra.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, process flow, problem-solving, communication, customer service, and organization skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership: Ability to work with limited management direction, exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives, and lead teams to deliver high-quality results.
