Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Cobb and Douglas Public Health. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in promoting and protecting the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas counties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to populations with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.
  • Collaborate with local physicians, hospitals, substance abuse centers, correctional facilities, and community organizations to promote TB education and ensure continuity of care.
  • Identify high-risk populations and tailor interventions based on the needs of the population and the resources available.
  • Provide treatments, administer medication/vaccines, and provide preventive and maintenance care to patients/families consistent with care plans and/or physician treatment plans.
  • Screen and refer clients to other community service providers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • CPR certification.
  • One year of PHN experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional experience in public health nursing.
  • Some public health and infectious disease experience is helpful.
  • The ability to translate English to Spanish and Spanish to English orally and written.
Work Environment

This position requires some walking to/from and in/out of chair. It does require the flexibility of working in various areas of the clinic when necessary and some outreach. Confidentiality and precise data entry are a must.
