Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Chemistry

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, as well as conducting research in the field of chemistry and chemical biology.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in chemistry and chemical biology courses
  • Conduct research in the field of chemistry and chemical biology, with a focus on advancing knowledge and understanding in the field
  • Develop and maintain a strong research program, with a focus on securing external funding and publishing research results in top-tier journals
  • Participate in departmental and university service, including serving on committees and contributing to departmental and university initiatives
Requirements:
  • Doctorate or terminal degree in chemical sciences, including organic, physical, inorganic, theory, and chemical biology
  • Strong research record and a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching
  • Ability to teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Ability to develop and maintain a strong research program
