SkillBridge Aviation Pilot Military Fellowship
ACTIVE-DUTY U.S. MILITARY REQUIRED FOR ELIGIBILITY
Global Medical Response Inc. (GMR) is honored to participate as an authorized provider of the DOD SkillBridge initiative, which offers U.S. Military Service Members the chance to acquire significant civilian work experience in the medical response sector through training, internships, and practical on-the-job experience.
Through the SkillBridge program, GMR accommodates active-duty U.S. Military personnel for specialized employment training during the concluding six months of their active-duty service commitment. The SkillBridge Program with GMR is structured to last for 90 days. During this period, military service members will continue to receive their military compensation and benefits, with no remuneration from GMR.
SkillBridge program start dates are coordinated with company onboarding schedules and Service Member availability.
Minimum Required Qualifications for SkillBridge Program:
- Current Active-Duty Service Member
- Meets DoD SkillBridge Eligibility Criteria
- Available for a 90-day commitment
- Must obtain signed consent from unit commander (04 or above) and acknowledge that participation in SkillBridge may be terminated at any time due to mission requirements.
During the SkillBridge Program:
- 7/7 work schedule at most locations
- 24-hour base housing provided at most locations
Post-SkillBridge Employment Opportunities:
While successful completion of the SkillBridge program does not guarantee future employment with any GMR entity, a newly hired GMR/Guardian Flight Pilot can anticipate the following benefits:
- Starting base salary ranging from $91,167.60 to $100,284.36, or higher based on experience and aircraft type.
- Geographic pay modifier of 0% to 70% based on assigned location.
- Sign-on bonus of $15,000 and a retention bonus of $40,000 after three years, applicable to all locations.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensures that all operations involving Company aircraft adhere to Federal Aviation Regulations, the Guardian Flight EMS Operations Manual, and all applicable state and municipal regulations.
- Operates the aircraft safely and efficiently, prioritizing compliance with the Fixed Wing Flight Manual.
- Monitors weather forecasts and current conditions.
- Conducts pre-flight inspections of the aircraft prior to commencing shifts and/or accepting transport or flight assignments. Any discrepancies noted during pre-flight will be documented in the engineering log, with maintenance notified of the issue and corrective actions taken.
- Reports for duty well-rested and prepared, staying informed of weather and forecast changes.
Qualifications for PC-12:
Experience (Line Pilot):
- 2,500 total flight hours
- 2,000 fixed wing hours
- 1,000 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) hours
- 500 cross-country hours
- 100 night hours
- 75 instrument hours (with at least 50 actual)
Education and Credentials:
- Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land (C-ASEL) required.
- Must be willing and able to obtain ATP within five years of employment.
- Current FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate required.
- Must possess a valid and unexpired driver's license.
- High school diploma or higher.
Qualifications for KING AIR C90/B200:
Experience (Line Pilot):
- 2,500 total flight hours
- 2,000 fixed wing hours
- 1,000 PIC hours
- 500 cross-country hours
- 500 multi-engine hours
- 100 night hours
- 75 instrument hours (50 actual)
Education and Credentials:
- Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land (C-AMEL) required.
- Must be willing and able to obtain ATP within five years of employment.
- Current FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate required.
- Must possess a valid and unexpired driver's license.
- High school diploma or higher.
Qualifications for LEAR 45:
Experience (PIC):
- 4,000 fixed wing hours
- 1,000 turbine hours
- 500 crew environment hours
- EMS flight experience preferred.
Education and Credentials:
- ATP-ME required.
- Must be willing and able to obtain ATP within five years of employment.
- FAA First Class Medical (6 Months) required.
- Must possess a valid and unexpired driver's license.
- High school diploma or higher.
Global Medical Response teams are dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality medical care, primarily in emergency and patient relocation services globally. We provide comprehensive medical transportation, fire services, integrated healthcare solutions, and disaster response.
