Position Summary

This role entails overseeing the development of capital and operational projects of moderate complexity.

The selected candidate will be tasked with identifying solutions to technical challenges, executing assigned responsibilities, and demonstrating a high level of proficiency in the electrical engineering domain.

Additionally, the candidate will be accountable for delivering project outcomes and enhancing processes within their area of expertise by employing suitable engineering methodologies, technologies, and workflows, both independently and collaboratively within a project team.


Responsibilities


Deliver electrical engineering services for capital and operational projects, encompassing scope definition, cost estimation, design, equipment specification and procurement, documentation (drawings, equipment files, etc.), and implementation. Design and execute projects that prioritize safety and operational efficiency.

Oversee capital and operational projects to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budgetary constraints. Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing electrical reliability and plant performance while providing support to maintenance teams.

Collaborate with production and maintenance staff to address production or design challenges.

Drive enhancements in maintenance workflows, protocols, and performance metrics. Develop Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) strategies to optimize plant operations. Provide electrical engineering technical assistance and troubleshooting for plant operations and maintenance activities. Maintain expertise in specific functional areas, such as instrumentation, analyzers, power distribution, and motors.


Assist in the formulation of Obsolescence and Long-Range Plans, which involve identifying equipment needs and creating mitigation strategies (including Emerson Delta V and Rockwell PLC hardware platforms). Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, Process Safety Management (PSM) standards, and local, state, federal, and corporate guidelines.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET).

Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar certification in a relevant engineering/project management field.

4-6 years of experience in multi-disciplinary engineering and maintenance environments.

Proficiency in hardware/system design, including process instrumentation, control valves, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), pumps, and data systems. Experience with low and medium voltage power distribution (13.8 KV, 2400V, 480V) in heavy industrial settings.

Familiarity with control systems (e.g., Emerson Delta V, Rockwell Automation Control Logix platforms).

Experience collaborating with vendors, engineers, production teams, and maintenance personnel.

Project management skills, including design and specifications to facilitate procurement and construction activities. Strong communication, business acumen, technical knowledge, planning, and interpersonal skills.

Thorough understanding of industry codes and standards (e.g., IEEE, ISA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA).

Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment (motors, VFDs, circuit breakers, PLCs).

Experience with Predictive and Preventive Maintenance practices.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET).

Pay Range

USD $70.00 /Hr.
