Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting end-of-day office procedures while ensuring a tidy and professional reception area.
  • Welcoming patients warmly and assisting them in a courteous, prompt, and supportive manner.
  • Updating patient personal and insurance details accurately as required.
  • Verifying and scanning insurance cards and identification documents as necessary.
  • Guiding patients in completing necessary forms and addressing their inquiries and concerns.
  • Collecting co-payments and payments while confirming insurance eligibility.
  • Managing, running, and faxing reports and records, including scanning and attaching documents to patients' Electronic Medical Records.
  • Completing billing charge slips and submitting them accordingly.
  • Facilitating patient check-out and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Making reminder calls for upcoming appointments.
  • Reconciling cash drawer balances.
  • Upholding patient confidentiality and adhering to all HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • A minimum of one year of customer service experience is essential.
  • At least one year of prior experience in a medical office setting is highly preferred.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist in lifting patients weighing up to 300 lbs.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
  • A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
