District Nurse Supervisor

Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to lead our Trauma ED team as a Unit Supervisor. As a key member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our Level 1 Trauma Center.
Job Summary:- Lead a team of Registered Nurses in providing exceptional patient care and promoting a positive work environment.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Inova Health System standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and enhance the overall patient experience.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff to ensure they have the necessary resources and training to perform their duties effectively.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.
- Front-line leadership and accountability for delivering high-quality patient care and promoting a positive work environment.
- Embracing and utilizing research-based nursing practices and quality tools to improve clinical operations.
- Supporting unit-based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes.
- Role modeling leadership by example in delivering Service Always and prioritizing Patient Experience.
- Ensuring patient-centered care and valuing and promoting collegial working relationships within and among disciplines.
- At least one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
- More than two years of Registered Nurse clinical experience specific to the focus of nursing unit preferred.
- Associate Degree RNs within one year of completing their BSN.
- BSN or MSN preferred.
- BLS required. Specialty certification (as required by unit) within one year of hire.
- Licensed to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
