About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Supply Chain Intern to join our team at ACIST Medical Systems. As a Supply Chain Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our Operations team to support the planning, execution, and analysis of supply chain activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supply Planning and Inventory Management
    • Create purchase orders for intercompany transfers
    • Analyze inventory levels and provide a production plan to the Production Supervisor
    • Review supply levels and communicate issues and advise of potential stockouts
    • Forecast analysis and develop a production plan (SIOP process)
    • Identify potential process improvement efforts to improve quality and reduce costs
  • Analysis
    • Review and analyze inventory levels for raw, WIP, and finished goods
    • Review and analyze ordering trends such as average cost per line item, average total cost order, and average orders by suppliers
    • Analyze transportation costs for inbound materials and outbound finished goods
    • Analyze on-time delivery and forecast accuracy
    • Root-cause analysis
  • Relationship Development
    • Cultivate relationships with internal and external associates with direction from management to resolve open issues and identify and drive continuous quality and cost improvement activities with key suppliers
Training and Development

As a Supply Chain Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in supply chain operations. You will be exposed to working with various operations and product support departments within ACIST Medical Systems and learn key requirements which need to be followed in a regulated environment such as the medical device industry.

Requirements
  • Third- or fourth-year undergraduate student with an intention of majoring in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or similar discipline
  • Ability to research data using internet/online sources
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • High level of professionalism
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships across all levels both within and outside of the organization
  • Demonstrated mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to work both autonomously with limited supervision and as part of a team
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence and maintain high levels of communication and feedback with peers, management and various stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in an office environment
  • Previous experience working with external organizations such as suppliers
  • Ability to travel to other ACIST Medical Systems sites (if necessary)
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
  • Knowledgeable in Supply Chain requirements of ISO 13485
  • Contract preparation and negotiation experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of quality policy/system expectations

  • The position requires relationship building with both internal and external process stakeholders and indirectly managed resources
  • The individual in this position must be resourceful and committed to protecting the company's interests by balancing both short-term and long-term requirements
  • Mental demands - work is detail oriented, often with multiple priorities. The environment is deadline sensitive and may be exposed to high-pressure situations
  • Limited travel may be required
