Position Overview
HilgartWilson is seeking a Lead Landscape Architect and Project Supervisor to enhance our dynamic team. Our group comprises licensed landscape architects and LEED-accredited professionals who adopt a comprehensive approach to each assignment.
We excel in collaborating with architects, planners, and other stakeholders to select amenities, plant species, and hardscape elements that achieve a harmonious blend between project demands and the natural landscape. Our inclusive designs ensure accessibility for all individuals within the environments we create.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Landscape Architecture team on all phases of planning and design for landscape and civil/site development projects, including specification writing, construction document detailing, and cost estimation.
- Support business development initiatives and guide project teams in crafting proposals and presentation materials for Landscape Architecture projects.
- Investigate zoning laws, precedents, and agency regulations pertinent to proposed projects and assist with submissions to relevant authorities.
- Foster and maintain relationships with clients and partner organizations.
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control efforts for Landscape Architecture projects as necessary.
- Mentor and guide staff to promote professional growth and enhance productivity and skills.
- Conduct field inspections of landscape and civil/site construction to verify adherence to specifications and construction documents as required.
- Engage in the initial setup, progress tracking, and detailing of landscape architecture and civil/site plans utilizing AutoCAD and Land F/X.
- Ensure awareness of project timelines, deadlines, and budgetary constraints.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture.
- 5-8 years of professional experience in Landscape Architecture and Civil/Site projects.
- Preferred: Registered Landscape Architect certification.
- Experience in project management, business development, and client engagement.
- Advanced understanding of design methodologies, tools, and practices for producing high-quality technical plans, details, and specifications.
- Familiarity with plant materials, design elements, and tools used in constructing site-related structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D / LandF/X.
- Skilled in Sketch Up / Photoshop / Illustrator for graphic presentations.
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
- GPS/GIS experience is a plus.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English for effective communication in job-related contexts.
