Job Title: Academic Advising Specialist

North Carolina Central University is seeking a highly motivated and organized Academic Advising Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide academic advising and support to students, faculty, and staff, ensuring a smooth and successful academic experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic advising and guidance to students, including degree planning, course selection, and academic progress monitoring.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure accurate and timely degree audits and transfer credit evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with students, faculty, and staff to promote academic success and student engagement.
  • Stay up-to-date with university policies, procedures, and regulations related to academic advising and student records.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in academic advising and student support.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in academic advising or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
