Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Scheduler to join our team at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada. As a Medical Office Scheduler, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Checks in patients and informs clinical staff of patient arrival.
  • Provides and explains paperwork for patients to complete before their appointments.
  • Collects co-pays and balances; provides a receipt.
  • Answers phone calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Answers, screens, and responds to routine questions via phone, electronic communications, or face-to-face contact.
  • Records patient cancellations and missed appointments; reschedules as needed.
  • Schedules outside consults/procedures ordered by a physician.
  • Provides general administrative support by scanning/filing charts and forms.
  • Maintains lobby area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Maintains a legible supply of forms and office supplies required for daily activities.
  • Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines about patient records.
  • Schedules all CT (CAT) scans, and PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scans, once approved by insurance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least eighteen (18) months of front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of this practice's personnel, daily routines, and scheduling is a plus.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying the position.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, work commitment, and commitment to quality.
Work Environment

The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
