Medical Unit Coordinator

As a Medical Unit Coordinator at Northern Light Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical surgical unit. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate assigned unit activities, manage patient records, and process physician orders. You will also be responsible for the safe transport of patients and other items as directed. Additionally, you will maintain a safe environment, complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures, and report and directly address environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate assigned unit activities
Manage patient records (e.g. assemble patient records, file patient information, etc.)
Process physician orders (e.g. transcribe physician's orders, flag charts appropriately, enter orders into computer)
Coordinate the safe transport of patients and other items as directed
Maintain a safe environment, complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures
Requirements:
High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED)
Working Conditions:
Lifting, moving, and loading 30 to 50 pounds
Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends)
