We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Director to oversee the maintenance and operations of our facilities at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and supervising a team of maintenance personnel, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our physical plant, grounds, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and oversee preventive, reactive, and emergency maintenance teams and personnel in the field.
- Plan, direct, and supervise the functions and activities of facilities managers and staff.
- Work with senior management to manage and resolve personnel, staffing, and resource issues.
- Serve as the key interface between site administrative and facilities operations staff regarding plant and MEP equipment issues.
- Implement and oversee site preventive maintenance schedules and prioritize repair and maintenance work to minimize disruption of hospital operations.
- Maintain adequate supply of materials and equipment.
- Participate in the selection of vendors and prepare purchase requisitions.
- Review completed job orders and ensure all work is captured on the CMMS system in a timely manner.
- Attend and participate in weekly scheduling meetings with the Planner/Schedulers.
- Ensure staff compliance with department training programs.
- Responsible for the recruitment, selection, and orientation of employees in assigned areas.
- Prepare departmental status reports on work and project activities for senior departmental management.
- Participate in the preparation and tracking of the operating budget, monthly variance reports, BID proposals, procurement process, etc.
- Represent Facilities Operations on surveys by Joint Commission, CMS, Safety Rounds, etc.
- Ensure that all enterprise-wide processes and systems for facilities operations are adhered to at the managerial, supervisory, and staff level.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- At least seven years of supervisory facilities engineering experience, preferably at a large hospital.
- Proven management skills in diverse labor force.
- Microsoft Office skills.
- Knowledge of MEP systems, CMMS systems.
- Management/Supervisory skills.
- NYC Steam/Refrigeration license.
