Overview & Responsibilities:

General Summary:
Responsible for assisting residents with their daily living activities. Duties are performed under the indirect supervision of nursing staff or supervisors, following established protocols and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Accountable for the daily living tasks that ensure residents maintain cleanliness and comfort, including but not limited to: transferring, mobility assistance, bathing, changing briefs, personal care, toileting, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, and changing bed linens.


Physically assist residents in attending appointments, activities, and meals, which may involve pushing wheelchairs, closely following walkers, and managing schedules.

Maintain accurate records of communications for colleagues, shift summaries, and care notes regarding residents under your care.

Qualifications:

Physical Demands:
Ability to walk, stand, bend, reach, stoop, or sit for extended periods

Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects or individuals weighing over 50 lbs

Ability to maintain focused attention to safety, detail, and accuracy over sustained periods

Requirements:
Must receive the annual flu vaccination, with exceptions for religious or medical reasons.

Specific Skills:
Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality

Strong interpersonal skills

Ability to make independent decisions without supervision

Ability to interact tactfully with residents, families, team members, and the public

Capability to make decisions in high-pressure situations

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for all team levels

Exhibits good character and a high degree of personal integrity, showing sincere compassion for cognitively impaired seniors

Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older adults and their families.
