Position Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and analytical professional to join our team as a Senior Fund Accountant. This role is essential in managing the accounting and financial reporting for both existing and new funds. You will report directly to the Controller and collaborate closely with the fund administrator to maintain the accuracy of financial data and adhere to deadlines. This position offers a high level of collaboration, working directly with senior management, fund administrators, external auditors, tax professionals, banking partners, and legal advisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the third-party fund administrator, reviewing financial statements and workpapers, including NAV calculations, footnotes, and performance metrics, ensuring compliance with US GAAP reporting standards and relevant fund documentation.
  • Prepare preliminary calculations for management fees and fund expense summaries.
  • Oversee the preparation, distribution, and monitoring of capital calls and distributions, ensuring fee calculations and expense allocations align with fund agreements.
  • Assist in audit processes and other regulatory submissions as required.
  • Support the onboarding of new funds with the fund administrator.
  • Prepare and/or review responses to investor inquiries and other ad hoc requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review fund agreements, Private Placement Memorandums (PPMs), and other relevant fund documentation.
  • Contribute to the monthly and annual closing processes for the management company.
  • Process invoices for weekly accounts payable and initiate wire transfers.
  • Prepare monthly invoices for intercompany reimbursements.
  • Conduct weekly cash reconciliations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience in fund accounting or public accounting (Audit/Assurance, Advisory, or Partnership Tax) with alternative investment clients is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP (SEC financial reporting standards).
  • Proficient in reviewing and preparing financial statements.
  • Familiarity with accounting software; QuickBooks experience is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills (vlookup/sumifs/pivot tables).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to process information swiftly and accurately.
  • A keen interest in Private Equity.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.

Compensation and Benefits:

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 USD. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as location, education, skills, training, and experience. This role may also qualify for an annual discretionary bonus.
