About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Claims Representative to join our team at SFM Mutual Insurance Companies. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for investigating and managing workers' compensation claims in accordance with state statutes and company best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and manage claims in a timely and efficient manner
  • Communicate with claimants, employers, and medical providers to gather necessary information
  • Apply workers' compensation statutes and case law to determine compensability
  • Authorize payment of medical and wage loss benefits within payment authority
  • Manage data timely and accurately on files to be in compliance with state regulatory reporting requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Four or more years of workers compensation lost time experience
  • Pursuit or attainment of a professional insurance designation (CPCU, ARM) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of state applicable Workers' Compensation Act and its application to claims administration
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
