JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Veteran Services Officer, this role is responsible for overseeing and managing the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Emergency Financial Assistance Grant Program.
* This position is funded through grants and may be subject to termination if funding is not renewed after the grant period ends. *
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversees the timeline for grant development, ensuring that all necessary documentation is submitted promptly to comply with requirements.
  • Balances and reconciles financial transactions related to grant expenditures and income.
  • Prepares and submits financial reports for grants on a monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual basis.
  • Engages in community outreach and participates in events to promote the program.
  • Assesses the eligibility of Veterans for various assistance programs.
  • Collaborates closely with the Veteran Services Officer to provide support to eligible Veterans.
  • Works in conjunction with the Williamson County Auditor's Office.
  • Assists in updating policies and procedures as needed.
  • Delivers direct customer service to Veterans, both in person and via telephone.
  • Develops and maintains various reports related to the assigned assistance group.
  • Creates and updates forms, worksheets, and informational materials.
  • Maintains organized filing systems that are current and comprehensive.
  • Participates in cross-training with other office staff to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Attends required meetings and training sessions.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
  • Reports to - Veteran Services Officer (Director of Veteran Services)
  • Direct Reports - None
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, visual inspection of documents, and occasional physical activities such as walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Travel within the county for community outreach is necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is primarily conducted indoors in a climate-controlled setting.
  • Regular travel between various work sites may be required.
IRREGULAR HOURS
  • Occasional work outside of standard office hours may be necessary.
  • This position may be designated as essential personnel during emergencies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field, along with two (2) years of experience in accounting or grant management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required within thirty (30) days of employment
  • Valid driver's license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Federal and State programs.
  • Experience with Texas Veterans Commission Grants.
