Merchandise Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Merchandise Processor to join our team at Goodwill Industries of Central Texas. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient processing and display of donated merchandise in our stores.
Key Responsibilities- Sort and process merchandise from containers to determine its suitability for the sales floor, adhering to established guidelines.
- Roll and accurately stock merchandise on the sales floor, maintaining a high level of organization and presentation.
- Accurately and timely record and monitor donations, ensuring accurate inventory management.
- Stay up-to-date on brand name, designer labels, current and vintage styles, and apply this knowledge to effectively merchandise our stores.
- Sort apparel into boutique, sellable, and salvage categories according to quota, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Place items on hangers, hang hangers on rolling racks, and transport them to the sales floor, maintaining a neat and organized appearance.
- Maintain a pace that allows you to meet daily quota for pieces processed, ensuring efficient store operations.
- Comply with safety and security practices, reporting any safety hazards or injuries to the manager on duty.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all donors and customers, engaging in friendly and professional interactions.
- Comply with all Goodwill policies, including participating in store meetings and trainings.
- Adhere to the work schedule set by your supervisor, ensuring timely and consistent attendance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including the production area.
- Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to Goodwill's uniform standards.
- Communicate Goodwill's mission and vision effectively to our donors and customers.
- Cross-train as necessary in other functions of store operations and assist as needed in other areas of the store.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Work a flexible schedule in support of the store's opening, production, and closing operations, including weekends and holidays.
- A minimum of six months of previous work experience or the equivalent educational or vocational experience is preferred.
- Must be able to follow directions well and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to problem-solve and provide exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds at times.
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing for prolonged periods of time (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift).
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles.
