Job Summary

The City of Georgetown is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Stormwater Management Coordinator. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the effectiveness and compliance of our stormwater management program with local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to the stormwater management program, including investigating complaints and developing corrective recommendations.
  • Oversee and assist in the implementation of stormwater mapping and GIS activities.
  • Manage and supervise assigned professional consultants and evaluate their performance.
  • Research funding opportunities to support stormwater management activities.
  • Prepare grant applications and manage grants and other funding sources.
  • Perform site visits and send corrective correspondence to noncompliant offenders.
  • Review and recommend updates to technical specifications and typical standards for stormwater management activities.
  • Develop and implement public education and participation programs relative to stormwater quality.
  • Review erosion control plans and perform on-site inspections to ensure compliance with building code standards.
  • Provide code and regulation information to the public, permit applications, and other departments.
  • Coordinate with the development community to ensure compliance with adopted site erosion and sedimentation regulations.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree in a field related to Civil/Environmental Engineering, Engineering Technology, Environmental Science, Geography, Natural Resources, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in public works, planning, geography, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Code Enforcement background, experience, or certification.
  • Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ), Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System Program Manager (CMS4S), or equivalent program certification.
Working Environment:

The Stormwater Management Coordinator will work in a fast-paced environment and will be required to stand, sit, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, reach, handle, and use foot controls.

Compensation:

$37.47 per hour.
