Job Title: Associate Athletic Trainer

Join the Houston Christian University team as an Associate Athletic Trainer and contribute to the success of our NCAA Division 1 student-athletes. As a key member of the Sports Medicine department, you will work closely with the Head Athletic Trainer to provide top-notch care and support to our student-athletes.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent the University with professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with students, staff, and the public.
  • Oversee the Sharp Athletic Training room and supervise entry-level Athletic Trainers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent athletic injuries and maintain athletic training care for athletes.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and advise coaches and athletes on training and conditioning programs.
  • Establish and supervise non-surgical and surgical rehabilitation programs.
  • Evaluate the progress of injured athletes daily and determine their availability for re-entry into sports participation.
  • Assist with the instruction and preparation of athletic training students for certification.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the Sports Medicine department.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in athletic training required.
  • Current Texas licensure or eligibility required.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification required.
  • BOC Certified.
  • Secondary and/or collegiate full-time employment experience as an athletic trainer preferred.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Ability to work outside at sporting events in all weather conditions.
  • Some heavy lifting required.
  • Must be able to climb stairs.
  • Must be able to operate all equipment within the athletic training room.
